Bakers of Nailsea is a small family run abattoir and retail butchery based in Nailsea, North Somerset. The business was started over 100 years ago by Thomas Baker and is now into its 5th generation, with Toby Baker and his two sons Russell and James currently running the business. The abattoir offers a local wholesale delivery service for butchers and has recently extended and improved the private processing service for small holders.
Small holders using this service can expect a high quality performance throughout the entire process whether it be slaughtering, butchery, further processing or packaging - which can be tailored to the individual requirements of each customer. Our retail shop can be found on North Street, Nailsea. Managed by John Vowles who has over 30 years of experience in retail management, the shop also benefits from a young, vibrant team of staff, including Stephanie Baker – bringing together an important blend of knowledge and enthusiasm.
Beef, pork and lamb sold in the shop is traceable back to our abattoir and our ‘Somerset only’ supply chain. This is a unique service we can provide on traceability. We are on first name terms with our farmers, many of whom we have dealt with for generations – this creates a close knit professional relationship from start to finish.
