The farming aspects of the business developed alongside the abattoir and remains an important part of the business. Today Danny Baker produces beef cattle and Rex Baker produces pork pigs – exclusively for Bakers of Nailsea. We also have many other close farming links to supply beef, pork and lamb. In an age of animal welfare and a growing concern over food miles, this local link becomes increasingly important.
A strong network of local suppliers has been built up since the major foot and mouth epidemic which has enabled the company to promote traceability and the 'farm to fork' ethos. We are always interested in potential suppliers, so please feel free to contact us at the abattoir. |
